The Lakeside Lawn Bowling Club invites you to come out to the greens this summer and enjoy the sport of lawn bowling. The game is played outside in fresh air and sunshine affording fun and fitness for all.
Lawn bowls is not a strenous activity. Both men and women can play it. Although the basics can be learned in an afternoon and it seems innocently simple, it can be challenging. It can be played at any level of skill depending on how much time and effort is given to the sport.
The Lakeside Lawn Bowling Club offers open play and instruction is free. The equipment is loaned while learning. Our season starts the third week in May and it continues into October as long as we can play.
The bowling greens are located at Lake Shore Drive and 58th Street, just south of the Museum of Science and Industry. Turn in off Lake Shore Drive at 58th St., called Science Drive, then turn left in the parking lot past the entrance to the boat marina.
We gather, during the warmer months, every Saturday and Sunday at 12:30PM and on Tuesday evenings at 6 PM.
